Perfect spot for a picnic in the grassy open fields with an awesome view of the Los Angeles skyline. A well-kept oasis on the border of Downtown LA. Rarely gets crowded so you might be lucky and have the whole view to yourself.

Vista Hermosa Natural Park is part of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority. Located in the western gateway to Downtown Los Angeles, it’s very easy to drive by this hidden gem if you’re not looking for it. This park is the perfect mix of urban and nature with tons to do and plenty of room to spread out.

With numerous features including picnic areas, a nature themed playground, short walking trails, streams and meadows, and even a FIFA regulation soccer field, Vista Hermosa Natural Park has something for everyone. It’s a great place to bring your kids or your dog for a serene slice of nature in the middle of bustling downtown LA. Pack your favorite sandwiches and drinks and spend some time relaxing on the grass. The highlight though has to be the bench that perfectly frames a one of a kind view of the stunning Los Angeles skyline.

Vista Hermosa Natural Park Reviews

An unexpected adventure smack dab in the middle of the motile infrastructure that is L.A., bringing peace and tranquility to a much needed area. This park lives on the edge of Downtown and is also surrounded by Echo Park, the Historic Filipinotown, Angelino Heights & Westlake neighborhoods. This park offers up wonderful views of the Los Angeles skyline and alluring views within itself. Enjoy.

The park in itself is a rather nice place for a stroll but the bench from the picture above doesn't look the same anymore.

This park was great and I've visited many times. It's good a nice walking/running track, it well kept, and I've never seen it crowded. It's a nice escape from all the buildings and cars, the aroma of certain plants which are plentiful is nice. One of the best things about this beautiful park is the view of downtown LA. I feel safe when I'm there, I never see any shady people. If you want to chill, it would be a great place for a picnic on a blanket. There's a little waterfall, plenty is shrubbery and trees. Everybody should visit this park at least once in there lives. Decent amount of spaces in the parking lot, quite a few on the street as well.
