A 300 foot waterfall just above the Rose Valley Campground, north of Ojai. Easy access and family friendly (even small children). A great site to top off another adventure in the area or a sweet small escape in it's own. From parking to waterfall, at a moderate pace, this is about a 20 min walk in.
-From Ojai, head north on Hwy 33 (for approx 15 mi.)-You will pass the Wheeler Gorge Station. (great place to grab a permit)-Rose Valley Road will be on your right, clearly marked.-Remain on this road (approx. 5 mi.) to the turnoff to Rose Valley Campground (on your right), if you pass the shooting range you've gone too far-Parking on the shoulder of the road just before the gated entrance into the campground.-Walk up to the campground, trail head is just above site #5, there is a sign-The trail is straightforward and ends at the waterfall
There is water and it is falling...but it's southern California. There is a small pool just down stream you could take a dip in if you needed a cool off. For adventure seekers, there is a route up the left side of the fall that leads up to a much larger waterfall above. However, keep in mind SoCals drought and don't anticipate a grand flow of water, even after a heavy rain fall, the upper falls can be completely dry.
