Over The Hill And Through The Woods | North Hill

Petoskey, Michigan

Private, primitive forest and rolling hills in Northern Michigan.

Welcome to Over the Hills! This is a primitive, wild, and secluded camping area. We own a private, undeveloped 37-acre property 10 minutes from Petoskey. This camper-approved site includes 30 acres of forested hardwoods (don’t get lost) and 7 acres of open pasture. Two hills with a ravine between them define the layout of the land: one to the north (North Hill) and one to the south (South Hill). Each hill is approximately 10 full acres of forestland. Please park where the gravel driveway is, near the road, and walk into the woods. These sites are primitive and there is no “destination”. Find the area that you like the most; that’s your place. We are naturalists, ecologists and arborists. We are working on placing signs on the native trees and plants for visitors to identify! The forest is composed of sugar maples, red maples, American sycamore, butternut, sassafras, American basswood, boxelder, and walnut. Please enjoy our trees! Come enjoy some peace and quiet in the great outdoors while still being close enough to everything! Great biking into town. Just a 30-minute ride. Owners do not live on this forested gem but are nearby if needed.
