The home located in downtown Hilo is your oasis within walking distance of all that Hilo has to offer. The home is surrounded by bamboo and the koi ponds are lovely to experience.

Hilo Bay Hale Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of Hilo, this classic, restored plantation home built in 1914, is centrally located close to all the wonderful places to see and experience in Hawai'i's second-largest city! Enjoy Hilo's famous Farmer's Market, great places to eat and shop, museums, and galleries. Since 2009 we have been hosting travelers from around the globe and we offer guests a true and unique Hawaiian experience with aloha.

Outside your front door are the many shops and restaurants and markets and museums that Hilo is famous for. With four guest bedrooms and a big porch, it's perfect for a romantic holiday or family retreat.

Surrounded by lush gardens and towering bamboo, the hale (house) is an enchanting oasis with outdoor lanai (porches) for dining and relaxing. Enjoy views of Hilo bay and Hilo town from the wrap around front porch!

A buffet-style breakfast is served each morning in the kitchen and you are welcome to enjoy your breakfast on the back or front porch or in your room or private lanai (porch). We are famous for our delicious selection of locally grown tropical fruit, including papaya, bananas, and pineapple, and specialties like french toast that we make from the farm fresh eggs laid by our chickens at the Jungle Farmhouse. Enjoy locally grown and freshly brewed coffees and teas and juices and fresh-made pastries and banana bread too. Early or late breakfast is available on request. We also can prepare special vegan, non-glucose, and dairy-free dishes when requested.
