This 4BR/3BA rental features custom details crafted by the former owner -- archeologist and Taos icon Alfred Hobbs. Known as Alfred's Hacienda & Casita, these two adjacent historic rentals offer comfort, relaxation, and traditional New Mexico charm.

The Hacienda has a modern kitchen, a hot tub, and kiva fireplaces, while the 100-year-old Casita has a gas-burning stove and fine wood detailing throughout. When it’s time to explore, downtown Taos is a short drive away!


This single-story house sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms, each with a gas-burning kiva fireplace.

In the living room, seating surrounds a gas-burning kiva fireplace, making this space ideal for watching a movie on the 47” cable TV (with DVD player).

The updated kitchen has a full suite of stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a butcher block island. Gather for meals at the table set for six.

The master bedroom has a king bed, two armchairs, and a 42” cable TV with a DVD player. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower.

The second bedroom has a king bed and its own outdoor patio. The third bedroom has a full-size sleeper sofa. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower.

The front porch has a table for four overlooking the courtyard.

The fenced backyard has desert landscaping, hornos (traditional ovens), a horseshoe station, and mountain views.

Fire up the gas grill on the covered patio and dine alfresco at the picnic table or two iron tables with ample seating. Then take an indulgent soak in the hot tub.


This single-story casita sleeps two guests between the bedroom and a queen-size futon in the living area.

The living room has a gas-burning stove and a cable TV with a DVD player.

Enjoy meals in the kitchen, where a table seats three.

The bedroom has a queen bed and a custom-made wood shelf. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

A bistro table and two chairs are nestled under the trees by the main entrance. A private patio outside the kitchen has seating for three. The entire area is fenced, making the space very private.


Extra perks include complimentary Wi-Fi and a washer/dryer in the Hacienda. Parking is available for four cars (one in the garage and three in the driveways). Additional parking is also available in an adjacent lot.

This rental does not have air-conditioning. The Casita does not have a dishwasher, and the doorways are low – tall guests will need to be mindful of limited clearance. Guests with pets or small children are advised to exercise caution around the non-functional well in the yard.


Drive just 1.5 miles to explore the shops and dining of downtown Taos. This walkable district has a number of interesting sites and charming adobe-style architecture. For a fantastic wintery adventure, Taos Ski Valley is just 20 miles away.

If any sign of smoking is discovered Guest authorizes the Owner to charge the guest a minimum $500 cleaning fee. Unless the rental policy specifically allows, if any sign of any pet is discovered Guest authorizes Owner to charge the guest an additional minimum $500 cleaning fee.Properties are fully furnished properties that will include bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, furnishings unless otherwise specified.Travel Insurance is highly recommended for any stay.Please note that you may be required to execute additional agreements in order to comply with TurnKey's Terms of Service, HomeOwner's association rules or local laws or regulations.
