This is an easy trek and extremely rewarding. Highly recommend!

A nice hike just outside Winters, CA. It has a beautiful view of Lake Berryessa and is the perfect length for a nice afternoon (or morning) hike. Be sure to bring sunscreen and water because the top ridge is quite exposed and can be hot in the sun. Finish it off with a beer at the microbrewery Berryessa Brewing afterwards!

Super beautiful bridge. There's also a cliff walk (suspension-like bridges alongside the cliffs) and a treetop trek (suspension bridges between the treetops). I love how this area has been protected and not overrun by the expanding city. Pretty accessible, the shuttle from downtown runs frequently and is good. Prices are $37.95 for adult, $30.95 (Kids 13 – 16 is $24.95, kids 6-12 $12.00, kids under 6 are free) BC Residents: Show your BC ID (or proof of residency) at the Guest Services on the way out and they will turn your ticket into an annual pass for free! Four stars only because it can get so ridiculously crowded. I highly recommend early in the morning, especially on weekends. PHOTOGRAPHERS: try to catch that morning golden hour when it opens!

This hike was pretty good, and for someone who is an avid hiker but beginner-backpacker, this trail is a good length to get into it. There's a decent amount of ups and downs, but mostly elevation gain on the way there and downhill on the way back. We camped at Middle Lake which was very beautiful. There is a little peninsula on the immediate left as you approach the lake that is perfect to camp on. The stars are absolutely incredible from there. It was a bit crowded to camp at Middle Lake (although it was Labour Day weekend, so perhaps that's expected). Salmon Lake had no one camping there but it is another small lake that would be nicer since it's secluded. Remember to check campfire regulations before lighting any fires!
