Chillin at Lake Tahoe's Kiva Beach
South Lake Tahoe, California
Description
Added by Jake Young
Beautiful Sandy Lake Tahoe Beach. Often Less Crowded than other Tahoe Beaches. Best Dog Beach in Tahoe. Great Views of Mt. Tallac and Jake's Peak. Awesome Paddle Boarding Area.
Kiva is a secluded sandy crescent beach flanked by a beautiful meadow and mountain backdrop. This beach is rarely crowded and has free parking unlike other beaches in Tahoe. Kiva is a great place to bring dogs and is actually well known as a dog beach. Kiva is also accessible from the bike trail that parallels Emerald Bay Rd. There are beaches both to the west and east of Tallac Point, but the most swimmer friendly one is on the western side.
There is also a beach volley ball court set up on the western portion of the beach.
If you are looking for a snack, Camp Richardson is just down the road and has incredible hand-scooped ice cream.

So fun to watch all the pups splashing around at this dog-friendly beach! Easy spot to relax on the sand or get in the water! I went with a couple inner tubes and some beers and relaxed, watching the sunset behind the mountains! Killer views & the free parking is a plus!!

Kiva is where it's at. Even on super busy days, the beach is so big there is plenty of room to chill. It's also dog friendly, there are fun trails to explore, and the backdrop of the mountains is pretty epic.
