Description

Added by Brodie Fisher

This is quite possibly one of the prettiest hikes there is in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Beautiful meadows, streaming waters, giant cascades and a beautiful 40 foot waterfall lies await along this peaceful trail.

Starting at the Kings Creek Falls trail head you will walk near a small stream in a giant meadow, passing under many trees and various rock formations. Often times you will see wild life along the trail. You will arrive at a point where the trail splits into two, with the left side climbing up above the flowing cascades for a nice overview of the canyon (safer, would recommend for children), while the right side leads to a lesser maintained trail that follows closely along side the flowing cascades.

Due to heavy snow during the winter months, Highway 89 which leads to the trail head is closed and often will not open until the snow is cleared meaning this hike is often only available during summer.
