I have lived here since 2005, but have only recently taken up photography. The waterfalls are one of my favorite places to photograph as I can practice many different techniques and they are easy to access, not to mention the beauty of the gorge! I decided to come up here this past Sunday March 19th on a day the sun was gracious to shine and I'm so glad I did! I have NEVER experienced the falls like I did this day, from all the rain and spring runoff they were so full! This waterfall is one that I especially love to photograph because of the many different view points, angles & techniques . One thing I recommend if you can swing it, try to time your visit to this waterfall with the light! I happen to get here when the sun was bouncing through the bridge, off the river! It made for some AMAZING PHOTOS!! Definitely bring a tripod for capturing those long exposure shots! I also recommend gear to cover you camera, especially if you visit during this time. The waterfalls are MASSIVE! I'm not sure if it's just this year, but I'll be honest, i took a lot for granted and got a second chance in life so although I've been living in the PNW since 2005 I have only been really experiencing what an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BEAUTIFUL PLACE I live in!

Did this tonight!! Checking things off my photography bucket list. It is absolutely beautiful!! It was great practice for me as well. I need to work on my night photography as that is one area I am weaker in, and this was a beautiful place to practice. I will definitely be going back here again as I improve. The water reflections are insanely beautiful!! Don't pass this up!!

I moved to the Pacific Northwest almost 11 years ago (July will be 11 years), I was always to busy to really explore the area. Then 3 years ago I was in a bad accident and as a result became disabled. Well they say everything happens for a reason, I have always wanted to learn photography but never had the time. Even though I wouldn't be able to keep up in a class setting now, I have been teaching myself since last June when A friend bought me my first "real" camera. A Nikon D3300, I have been lucky enough to come across some good lenses and when I'm out taking pictures it's the only time I don't think about my pain, my multiple illnesses, medications or dr's app's. This morning I almost missed the sunrise because the view is ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!! I have learned to appreciate beauty and not take life for granted and my goodness, coming up here this morning was like being in touch with God. It was peaceful, there is no end to the beauty that you can see from up top this gem right in the middle of the city. This is why I love living here. You don't need to travel 4-5 hours to find beauty, it's right there, you just need to know where to look. Thank you for the recommendation I will be visiting here often. I feel completely at peace, and I have all day. And yes I got some amazing shots 😇😇

Was here tonight and caught the sunset. Was absolutely beautiful!! The only drawback is there a lot of shady people out there at night, don't recommend going alone. That's why I give it 3 stars, there needs to be better security. But other than that a must stop on a clear day, or to catch a sunset!
