I have a passion for outdoor adventuring, and I love taking opportunities to encourage others to go explore.

As others have said, it can be busy. I'll add a tally to that column. However, this place it still absolutely worth going to. I've been on very few hikes that have been similar to this one, and I love the sense of feeling like an ant crawling through cracks in the rock and earth. Plus, any hike that requires ladders in some areas gets atleast one thumb up from me!

I loved the Lake Michigan sunsets when I lived in Holland. I spent many evenings out photographing sunsets or storms rolling in. I highly recommend enjoying the colorful display, whether you come to this park or any of the others along the coast!

The gelato is the way to go. Gondolas were alright, bit boring if you're an adventurer. Our tour guide told us the best piece of advice concerning Venice that I've ever heard- "DO NOT do all the touristy things and just stay in the main squares. Its an island, go get lost exploring and you'll eventually make your way back!" Going down the back alleys and exploring all over was a far better use of time! Plus it gave us time to work off the first gelato and return for a second :)

Started my Maryland section of the AT here. What a cool start to the hike! Was a bit crowded when we came, and I'm not a fan of the graffiti. But it was cool to learn some facts while here, such as they banned hang-gliding from here because there was fear someone would make it all the way to Camp David which is rumored to be somewhere below.

Hiked through all of the Maryland AT as one of my long section hikes. Really enjoyed it, especially at places like this! Harper's Ferry was also a highlight for us!

Fun rock scramble on the AT! Its things like this I remember most about my section hikes. I always enjoy a good rock scramble or a good view! I highly recommend hiking the AT through all of Maryland, it was a really fun time!

My group really enjoyed this area as we came through on an AT section hike. Really broke up some of the monotony of hiking through woods constantly! We also got to see a train go by so that was cool.

Hiked through here as part of an AT section hike. My group really enjoyed this section, the overlook was awesome and we got to get some good pizza in town!

Hiked this a couple times while doing this section of the AT, but also came back to visit with my family. Good view at the top, but it was a bit challenging to hike up. A good friend of mine got engaged up here!

I lived a few hours from here for a few years, and after coming once I realized this was a must-do for anyone visiting me. I went several times and enjoyed it more and more each time. The splendor of the view from the top (or bottom!) of the big dune is just incredible and overpowering. I also really recommend taking some time to do the hike through the dunes right by Sleeping Bear, not many people do it but we all really enjoyed it. Not to mention there are unique photo ops on the hike!

Started a section hike of the AT here. While I cannot vouch for all the other activities, the hiking was really great starting here and going southbound!

Very unique and peaceful hiking area. The trails we chose were not difficult at all, and we especially enjoyed walking down on the trail that splits the lake. Didn't see any eagles that day but we still enjoyed our time.

Came here about ten years ago but still remember this hike as it was the second best thing we did on the trip, just behind climbing Mt Pilatus in Switzerland. Most of my group enjoyed touring the castle, but I far preferred hiking around it!

I come here often with family and friends, its one of our go-to hikes in the area. Its really pretty, although we prefer to start at the Clifton Gorge parking lot (not the one in Clifton, the one slightly towards Yellow Springs) and descend the stairs and follow the stream towards John Bryan. We usually get to the bridge and turn around from there, either taking the North Rim trail back up (to make to a loop) or just following our path back the way we came. Can be a super crowded area if Cedarville University is in session, especially if it is the moving in/out weekends or parents/alum weekend. If you don't like crowds I absolutely recommend you take a minute to look over the academic calendar and make sure you're not near one of those weekends!

Did this a few years ago, it was definitely my favorite in the area (but I like the longer/more difficult hikes). Sweeping views from the fire tower, lots of good photo angles. And come on, who doesn't like to climb fire towers??

Ended an AT section hike here, its a beautiful area! The PA side from here is really scenic for a day or two, and it includes Bake Oven Knob about 8 miles southbound!

Came here with family while on vacation in 2019. You do need to pay (per car) to get into the park, but it was definitely worth it! The boardwalk trail through the swampy forest was really cool, as was the swimming area. There were bathroom facilities, plenty of parking, and a park office with animal displays and information on many species in the area.

We wanted to park and enjoy the sunset here but the entire lot was full. Guess we were just a tad bit late. We did end up just stopping in the middle of the road for a few minutes to snag some pictures before more cars came along. This is definitely one of the best spots to get good sunset pictures in the area!

Came through here while hiking a large chunk of the PA stretch of the AT. Great view, it was a nice break from the woods (although they were beautiful as well!).

Came through here on the AT. Didn't do the full out and back trip as I was only going one direction, but I enjoyed the view opening up here! It was a great break from the woods scenery.

These features are highlights of the PA stretch of the AT. Great view and great hiking around here! I also saw a couple rattlesnakes on the hike around here, so keep an eye out and maybe you will too! This is a good spot to take sweeping scenery views.

Hiked through here while on the AT with some guys for a trip. It was a highlight for sure! Good view for miles, there's a reason its one of the highlights of the PA stretch of the AT!

I hiked here as a kid while on a field trip, and it was pretty fun although I was upset I didn't get to see any hawks. I returned as an adult and really enjoyed the view at the top, probably because I was able to actually focus on it rather than searching the skies. Don't think I saw any hawks then, either, but it was still fun!

When we went a couple years ago, this hike was fun and we got some good pictures along the way. However, it was extremely crowded and there were people climbing all over the falls so we were never able to get a good picture of just the falls. I suggest going early morning to avoid this!
