Jennifer Carr is a landscape, nature, and travel photographer and educator in Seattle, WA. She spends much of her time outdoors and is an avid traveler, always with her Sony camera in hand.

We did this as a day hike. The trail was gorgeous offering amazing views at the pass. Duck Lake was a wonderful lunch spot.

We hiked the Little Lakes Valley to Gem Lake. The hike was beautifully scenic and Gem Lake what truly impressive. It was covered with a layer of ice and beautiful!

The Black Point Fissures are unlike anything we have explored. While it took a little while for us to find them, when we did they were so fun to explore. It's so interesting to see the formations under the rock.

Crater Lake is a sight to see! The color of the water is something you can hardly imagine. The view from the lodge is lovely, but quiet crowded.

A beautiful view of the rocky California coastline. A stop at Bodega Head is a must do when you are in the area! Keep your eyes peeled for seals and otters!

Noosa is a great beach in the midst of an ideal surf town. Catch a few waves or go for a swim and grab fish tacos from the food truck Xalapa!

While the weather wasn't ideal during our visit to Byron Bay, we enjoyed this track along the coastline. We even lucked out an saw a wallaby and dolphins surfing the waves!

An absolutely breathtaking beach with an incredible rock formation and black sand. This was my favorite spot we visited in New Zealand.

This hike offers a beautiful view of the Piha coast as well as statues offering information on local history and folklore.

This waterfall hike was simple and straight forward. It was very crowded, so we didn't go to the top, but instead appreciated the height from below.

This beach in Raglan is the perfect break for beginner and intermediate surfers. Also fun for hanging out and beach combing!

We missed peak lavender blooms by just a few weeks. But, we were able to cut the dried lavender and bring it home!

This simple hike takes you to a breathtaking waterfall. It's a little hard to find off the road, so look for other cars!

This was a relatively straightforward hike to a beautiful lake. The trail was incredibly crowded. Look for the unnamed waterfall about a mile in.

Filled with beautiful waterfalls and incredible Redwoods, Big Basin State Park is truly a treasure for the Bay Area.

Pinnacles is such a unique park! Full of incredible geology and home of California Condors, this under appreciated park is well worth the trip!

An easy hike in the hills above Silicon Valley, Monte Bello Open Space Preserve is a wonderful escape to nature in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the tech industry.

Mount Pleasant is a wonderful hike for families and offers beautiful views and fun bouldering at the end!

McAfee Knob is the perfect hike to see all that the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer. Plentiful camping makes for a great backpacking trip.

Easily seen from the Sunrise Visitor's Center parking lot, even if you aren't photographing it, this is a must see for your visit to Mount Rainier!

We hiked the Naches Peak Loop during peak wildflower season in 2020 and were blown away by the beauty. This is a must do! Be prepared for bugs, though!

The hike to the Freemont fire lookout was crowded and hot on a summer day, but the views of Mount Rainier were well worth the trek. Bring your hat and sunscreen, because there is no tree cover.

Reflection Lakes is a beautiful spot to photograph Mount Rainier reflecting into the lake when the waters are still. Sunrise waters tend to be more still, but the reflection is still beautiful at sunset!
