We drove out from SLC to the Bonneville Salt Flats first thing in the morning - what a wonder! It is quite mesmerizing. You can actually access the salt flats by parking at the large designated parking lot in the rest area when exiting I-80 West.

We decided to do this hike right before having dinner in Little Cottonwood Canyon - very easy to do and Cecret Lake is a beauty. It's a small lake, but still very rewarding.

A pretty cool site to see! You will see it on the left hand side of the road right when you pass the gate/pay station to Antelope Island.

Located in the scenic Big Cottonwood Canyon, this hike is very rewarding. The beginning part is bit of an incline. When we went, Lake Mary had been completely drained but our favorite lake was Lake Martha. You can extend your hike and have an aerial view of the Brighton lakes by continuing on to Sunset Peak by taking a right at the fork before reaching Lake Catherine.

Easy hike with amazing views!

The Talimena Scenic Byway is quite a site to see on both the roads in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. There are many overlooks that you can stop by to have different vantage points of the Ouachita National Forest. Best time to venture on the Talimena Scenic Byway is definitely during autumn, but it's beautiful anytime of the year!

The Newport Pier provides fantastic views, and it's definitely a popular place because of it.

We go out to this area in Newport quite a bit. Aside from the surfing and photography, you can also have fun fishing off the jetty as well.

Dana Point is one of our favorite more secluded places, especially during the winter. The tidepools are brimming with colorful sealife. Make sure that you do not get too close to them or collect anything, and be respectful of the ecosystem.

We love going to Crystal Cove, whether to enjoy the water or camp. We also did our engagement photos here! The cliffs make a beautiful backdrop.

This past fall, we took the Trail Ridge Road from the east side of RMNP to the west side, and it was incredible all the way through. The vibrant colors of the foliage and the abundance of elk are quite a sight to see!

We loved hiking to Mills Lake, and it is quite an easy 5 mile RT hike. Don't just stop at Alberta Falls! The panoramic views at Mills Lake are stunning any time of the day.

I've been to many national parks in the U.S., and RMNP is one of my favorites. There are a lot of outdoor activities that can be done there, and it's an immensely beautiful park. Be sure to visit during the off-season.

We did the hike to Dream Lake and it was a real treat to see Nymph and Emerald along the way. Be sure to go during off season to avoid the crowds. More enjoyable, better hiking weather, and you get the views all to yourself!

We camped at Moraine Campground during the fall, and there was so much elk roaming around! It was quite a view, especially with the mountains as a backdrop. Great photo-op. Definitely a must see if you are at RMNP during the fall.

We hiked to Dream Lake during the colder season, and it was great because there were no crowds and we were able to enjoy the scenery, including Hallet Peak. Along the trail, you get to enjoy Nymph Lake and Emerald Lake as well!

We did this hike while camping at Point Mugu beach. It's a relatively easy hike with incredible views for the entire trail. The other trails part of the Sandstone Peak trail system are just as beautiful as well. Stop by Neptune's Net for a bite to eat to reward yourself after the hike!

Make sure to go during the winter time. Same beautiful scenery and way less crowded. Park along the PCH as recommended by the author - as parking at El Matador is very limited.

Whenever we go here, we go snorkeling, as the water is pretty clear. There are large populations of seals which is always a sight to see. Try to go when it's less crowded in the off-season, so that your beach experience will be more relaxing!

The Wichita Mountains is quite a gem in Oklahoma, and it's got fantastic hiking trails from the novice to the expert hiker. The Bison Trail is family friendly and on it there are definitely lots of wildlife to see with great views of the mountains! Doris Campground is a well kept campground and it situated on Quanah Parker Lake, which is convenient for fishing and kayaking.

We go to Little Corona Del Mar beach every single time we go back to California. It's less crowded than Corona Del Mar, and as mentioned in the article, they have the spectacular arches and tide pools.

Camping during the busy seasons in RMNP (such as summer) can be a little frustrating, so camping at Moraine Campground (which is one of the most popular campgrounds in RMNP) during the off season is a fantastic experience. I agree, camping with no mosquitoes is definitely a perk! And there's nothing like the brisk, wintry air that feels so refreshing.

This is one of my favorite short hikes in RMNP, just because you get the trail contains make vantage points of various beautiful lakes such as Dream Lake and Emerald Lake. Make sure you try to visit it in off season to avoid the crowds, as the trails can get pretty congested and less places to get a clean shot of the lakes.

After heavy rainfall, the waterfall at Natural Falls State Park is quite a beauty. There are two ways to view it. At the split on the Dripping Springs Trail, you can take a left to have an aerial view of it, while the right leads down a steep trail to the platform (just like the article suggests) where you can view it from the bottom. The Bear Trail (steep climb up) and the Fox Den Trail (goes along the creek up a bluff) extend after the waterfall from the Dripping Springs Trail.
