Convenient location if you don't want to finish the curvy drive to the coast. Too close to the road for in my opinion. Heard and saw the cars driving by at night. Bathroom wasn't bad.

Hike Crags Trail to Castle Dome

Great hike. Kids can do it with breaks but totally doable. Plus there's the side trail to the springs for a nice spot to each and taste the fresh water. Definitely not for kids who have never gone hiking before or for people who can't adjust to the incline.

Fern canyon is always an amazing hike! And easy enough for the kids. Tons of opportunities to explore off the path and not get lost.
