Amazing, low key camping spot with no crowds. It is easy to access and has amazing sunset and sunrise views. There is awesome kayaking and fishing nearby on the Snake River

Just an hour outside of Jackson Hole, this waterfall is very easy to access. This is also a great spot to camp overnight if you are heading to the Grand Tetons National Park from the West Coast.

Look for a sign at the turn out that says “Fall Creek Falls.” If you find yourself on the bridge over Snake River, you have missed the turn. Heading towards Jackson, look for the last righthand turn just before the bridge.

Because this is located in a National Forest, camping is perfectly legal and also free. Just be sure to camp about 200 ft. from the water.

If you are willing to get wet, you can wade out to one of the small islands and explore the base of the falls. To get to the bottom, you will have to climb down, starting at the small cave on the very left of the falls, and follow the stream down into to river.

Note that in the winter, this road can be closed, and it is not recommend to make the one-mile hike to the falls – the route is icy, slippery, and quite dangerous.

Camp at Fall Creek Falls Reviews

These falls are pretty nifty on their own, but not much of an adventure. If you have the ability I highly recommend floating the snake so you can see the falls from the river. Just put in at the dam and pull out at Spring Creek Boat Ramp. It's a pretty calm float and the falls provide a great finale.

Fall Creek Falls is one of my favorite places to visit and just enjoy nature. I come here often, especially at sunrise when the sun comes up over the mountains and lights up the Snake River and waterfall. Moose also frequent this area, making it an even more awesome destination. It's also a very short walk to get above the waterfall.

Chill place to either fish, relax, take pics, or all of the above. I went in mid October and wasnt able to get to the bottom of the falls since there was about a foot of muddy muck, but it was beautiful and relaxing nonetheless. Highly recommend bringing fishing supplies and gear to stay the night.
