Just 2 hours away from the hectic day to day of Atlanta is the highest point in Georgia, Brasstown Bald Mountain!

Once you make it to the parking area (parking fee required) to Brasstown Bald you will be at about 4284 feet elevation. From there you will have a short (0.6 mile) but steep hike to the tower that sits atop Brasstown Bald. Along the path you will see Rhododendron and various other blooms depending on the season. Brasstown Bald is 4784 feet making it the highest point in Georgia!! There is a few benches along the way to catch a breath if needed. Also during the summer and fall season they offer a bus ride to the top. The dedicated hiker can see an incredible sunrise from here! The sunsets that go down behind the southern Appalachian mountains are also very stunning!!

Hike to the Brasstown Bald Peak Reviews

This hike is short and sweet. Its perfect for the any age group and an easy one for the pup to tag along. The view alone is well worth the stop.

Hiked this peak via Arkaquah trail right on Trackrock Gap Road (park at the petroglyphs). Trailhead to summit it's about 12 miles round trip. The first mile and a half is the hardest with all the switchbacks. This is a good hike that we did in about 7ish hours. The park guides at the summit (especially Steve!) are all very friendly.

If you want to do more hiking then pull over on the parking lot at the beginning of the access road (180 split) form there you will see a trail sighn and jacks knob trail will be straight ahead
