Beautiful longboarding wave in France.

Cote des Basques is a popular longboarding surf spot in Biarritz, France.  It is also a great place to learn how to surf on the French coast.  Waves here are mellow and there are often very large crowds. It is a beach break, so waves break both left and right.  When the swell picks up the wave is predominantly a right. If you move further down the beach when there's more swell, the waves are a little punchier.

It's also a great place to catch the sunset, there are a couple of restaurants on the boardwalk.

Surf Cote des Basques Reviews

This a cool spot on the southern end of Biarritz. It's a popular longboarding surf spot.

The town is very walkable, so if you're debating between Grande Plage and Cote de Basque, so it's likely you'll get to surf both places swell depending. The break is better on a lower tide with more longboard / slower waves coming off the point and punchier waves further down the beach. Definitely walk to Les Halles before or after for snacks!
