Review: RapidPure Universal Water Bottle Adapter & Purifier

The RapidPure Universal Water Bottle Adapter and Purifier by Adventure Medical Kits is an ultralight portable purifier that can screw onto your existing bottle when hiking or traveling.  This universal water bottle adapter fits most wide mouth water bottles including Hydro Flask, Nalgene, CamelBak, Klean Kanteen and more. Simply just fill your bottle with water, screw on the purifier and enjoy. 

 The RapidPure Water Bottle Adapter uses UltraCeram electro adsorptive technology which acts like a magnet to remove harmful viruses, bacteria, protozoa, cysts, chemicals, heavy metals (lead), micro-plastics and more.  It is also equipped with an activated carbon filter which reduces bad odors and improves taste.  This filter removes 99.9999% of viruses and bacteria, and 99.9975% of parasites, and works even after it has been frozen. This RapidPure product has purifier protection for a minimum of 25 gallons of water.  After 25 gallons, the filter will need to be replaced for virus protection but can still be used as a filter removing bacteria and parasites for up to 200 gallons.  That's not a bad lifespan for such a small portable filter.

Weighing in at 4.6 ounces, it's hard not to justify having the RapidPure water bottle adapter as a essential piece of equipment while hiking.  The ease of use and lightweight design makes it perfect for adventures with a water source.  Having the ability to purify water on the go allows you to lighten your pack weigh by not having to carry extra water.  The only downside for this type of filter is that you can't filter water for cooking on a multi-day backpacking trip.  A separate filter would be required for such tasks.
