Get on top of the most unique, fascinating peak in the Cimarron Range (in my opinion)!

Drive Owl Creek Pass as far as you can go. If you have 4WD, this will mean going past the Courthouse trailhead by about 2.5 miles of bumpiness & creek crossings. If you do not have 4WD, park on the side of the road, right before the 4WD road begins.

From the parking area, you will be able to look straight up at Precipice. Start heading up the large avalanche chute, towards the grayish chokepoint near the bottom. Here, you will begin heading left. There are several game trails that can prevent you from getting into too much bushwhacking.

Once you get above the deep forested trees, you will climb right along the northern end of the chute.  You'll get basically above tree line, and will continue Northeast. You will come under a cliff, surrounded by several little caves. Move right until you find the cliff's break. Cairns will mark the way to the right of the large towers.

Keep going along the ridge until you see the space in between the two towers. Climb through this notch, which is Class 3 at worst.

Follow the ridge line to the fake summit, and then turn slightly and continue up to the true one.
