Just west of Boulder, 4.5 miles up Flagstaff Rd, this short hike is perfect for anyone looking for an easy route to awesome views of the Front Range. From Green Mountain, at just over 8,100 ft, you can enjoy sunrise and first light on the Continental Divide.

Starting at 7,600 ft this 1.35 mile (one-way) hike is the shortest, and by far the least strenuous, hike to summit one of Boulder's iconic peaks. Parking for this trail-head is available along the road a short drive, 4.5 miles, up Flagstaff Rd.

The trail gently slopes along a ridge for the first mile - this stretch has plenty of great views looking north and west. The majority of the elevation gain is in the last half mile so be prepared for a strenuous finish to an otherwise moderate, if not easy, hike.

Give yourself anywhere between 30 - 45 minutes to reach the summit. We erred on the side of caution and gave ourselves 45 minutes since we were hiking with a large group. Pro Tip: If hiking for sunrise, choose a time close to a full moon for a little added light while you hike!

Once you reach the summit find the best viewing spot, start some coffee, get comfortable and enjoy the show!
