Round Mountain, located just inside the Big Thompson Canyon, is a great medium effort day hike. It provides beautiful views all throughout the hike, and is a perfect quick get-away hike.

Start at the Loveland Mountain Park Area Trailhead and continue uphill for a under a half mile. The trail will fork - make sure to take the Round Mountain Trail to the east. The summit takes around 4.75 miles of hiking on well marked trail with about 2,800 ft of elevation gain.
