Natural mineral hot springs. Open year-round. Stunning mountain setting near Steamboat Springs. Landscaping that looks and feels natural. Tiered pools with varying heat levels. Optional spa/massage services. Charming lodging options. Adults-only, clothing optional after dark.

No matter the time of year, if you are going to be anywhere near Steamboat Springs, Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a can’t-miss experience. Steamboat is known primarily as a ski resort, but the area also offers amazing hikes and fishing in the summer, and top-notch leaf-peeping in the fall. Add area attractions like horseback riding, Jeeping, hot ballooning, museums, and more … and there is no end of things to do in this gem of northern Colorado.

Located 7 miles north of Steamboat Springs in the Routt National Forest, Strawberry Park is accessed through an impressive stand of aspen. The beautiful landscaping of the park blends with the natural surroundings, so you feel enclosed by nature. Luxury spa services and massage are available to those who want it, or you can just go straight into the pools. The pools are tiered by temperature, with the hottest being at the top and the coolest near the bottom. The largest, coolest pool at the bottom is large enough for swimming, though it is not deep enough for diving.

Surrounding the pools are some charming rental units, including rustic cabins, covered wagons, and a caboose. Tent camping is available as well. When you’re ready to cool off, there are poolside chairs as well. The bath house contains clean, well-maintained changing rooms and lockers.

While this is a great place to take the family during the day, after dark it is adults only, clothing optional. This may be attract or repel you based on your preferences! The park does have several rules and parking guidelines, so be sure to visit their web site before going. For example, they do not accept credit cards and dogs are not allowed.

Don’t miss this paradise in the wilderness the next time you are in Steamboat Springs. What better way to relax after a long, cold day of skiing? Admission is $15, but the memories are priceless!

Strawberry Park Hot Springs Reviews

Sophisticated options are available for massage. Various pools and sizes for groups besides the larger pools. Unique lodging options or bring your tent.

A great spot. I've only been during the day, but several visitors have reported activity nowhere near appropriate for kids after sunset. And don't forget the downtown hot springs. Great pools with warm water slides for the kiddos.

Though I'm a big fan of strictly primitive hot springs, Strawberry Springs is one of my favorite. Great during the day, even better after dark if you're looking to relax and soak without kiddos. Just the right balance of modern facilities while preserving a rustic natural feeling hot spring with plenty of different pools to soak in.
