Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose!

This is a short and easy hike, but it has amazing views.

Stopped off and did this hike on our way from Bigfork to Helena. Would have loved to spend more time here!

I hiked up here in late August and had the entire basin to myself! Saw some cow elk chasing each other and a bunch of deer.

The weather was still warm so I backpacked to Kermsuh Lake in mid-September. Unfortunately, the rain came in so I wasn't able to explore the basin.

Hiked here in mid-Feb. It was nice to get out of the car and hike for a bit. The water wasn't too hot the day we were there, but I jumped in none-the-less. How many more times would I have the opportunity to swim in Iceland's oldest hot spring pool.

I've lived across the street from South Carlsbad State Beach Campground since 2003. The only people who have access to the beach are those who are camping, and those of us who live close enough to walk to there. The the only public parking is located at the north and south ends of the park. There are about six surf breaks from Ponto's on the South end to Road Dips at the North End. During peak season, spring through fall you need to reserve your spot months in advance or wait in line at the gate at 7 AM to see if there is a cancelation.

Did this hike on 9/1/17. The weather was perfect. Plenty of people do this as a day-hike, but why not camp? It's a great place to disconnect and recharge. Bugs were not a problem over Labor Day weekend.

We backpacked to Amethyst Basin on 9/1/17. It was hot in SLC with zero chances of rain, so the Uinta's were packed. I estimate there were people in approximately 50 campsites, but the basin is large with lots of great campsites, so it didn't feel crowded. Bugs were non-existent. @Isaiah Ort - there is an overnight fee of $6 for stays of 1-3 days, $12 for stays of 7-14 days, or $45 for an annual pass, or free if you have a National Parks Pass.

Venture up the Big Cottonwood Canyon another mile past the Lake Blanche Trailhead and skip all the crowds. On a Saturday afternoon, we were the only ones at the trailhead and only saw a few others on our way back. We hiked it in late June, so we could only reach the first mine.

If you have a National Parks Pass entrance is free. The road above Tibble Fork Reservoir turns to gravel, but is fine for any normal car. It can take awhile to get up there on weekends as the lower portion of American Fork Canyon can be busy. It took us almost 1.5 hours fromSLC. Mid-week, it takes around an hour.

I climbed those ice covered stairs last winter. Luckily I had my Yaktraks on! I didn't hike too far since there was snow on the ground, but it's on my list for my next trip.

I was there almost 12 years ago, and it seems like the only thing that has changed is more Casa Particulars. Thanks!

I've lived in Utah for years and driven between Price and Green River many times wondering what lies in the upper San Rafael Swell. Now I know. It's an incredible placing with very few visitors. Allow yourself time to explore the Eastern side of the rim.

I stopped off at Kolob Canyon driving from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City for a little exercise. The views on the hike were amazing! The red rock contrasting the green evergreens were amazing. The cabins were interesting as well.
