Impressions of Iceland's Snaefellsness Peninsula

If you go to Iceland, you can't miss this area!

In November 2014 I finally travelled to somewhere that had been on my bucket list for a long time. That place was Iceland. My husband Menno and I decided to visit Iceland as our honeymoon destination, as 5* luxury beach resorts weren't really our cup of tea.

In preparation for our trip, I treated myself to a DSLR camera, as I'd decided that despite not owning a camera, I wanted to become a professional photographer. Iceland, I decided, was the perfect opportunity to develop some mad photo skills and capture some of the amazing scenery too.

When I look back at the pictures now, I do admit I have to cringe a little, but I still love them anyway. They are such a wonderful reminder of the perfect trip.

In our 1 week in Iceland, my absolute favourite area was a spot on the west coast known as the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. We drove around in out 4x4 and ended up stopping every few minutes to capture the beathtaking landscapes. Even though we experienced some very wild weather, it definitely didn't dampen our spirits (excuse the pun).

We want to acknowledge and thank the past, present, and future generations of all Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples whose ancestral lands we travel, explore, and play on. Always practice Leave No Trace ethics on your adventures and follow local regulations. Please explore responsibly!
