Joffre Lakes is one of BC's most beautiful hikes. From the parking lot head along the trail (staying to the left) at the fork and within minutes will reach the first lake.
At the north end of the lake you'll begin a steep forested section and 20 minutes beyond that you'll arrive at a boulder field. Continue on for another 20 minutes until you reach Middle Joffre Lake.
From Middle Joffre, follow the shoreline until you reach a steep rocky area. Switchbacks will take you up through a forested area and within 30 minutes you will see the outskirts of Upper Joffre Lake. The lake boasts spectacular glacier views, 24 reservable camping spots, bear proof food lockers and outhouse facilities. It's a popular weekend picknicking destination for locals and acts as a base for glacier hikes.
Note:Cell service is unreliable in the park / Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times / Winter conditions exist in the park between November - May / You must pack in / pack out all garbage / Allow 5 hours for return trip /No emergency services are available -visitors should be comfortable in wilderness settings and be able to perform self-rescue.
