Take advantage of no crowds and illuminated towers when watching sunset from Angkor Wat.

One of the most popular things to do when visiting Angkor Archaeological Park is watch the sunrise. Hoards of people flock to the North Library area to see the event. But I found the sunset is much more spectacular as it lights up the outer wall galleries and towers. Also, under the right conditions, the sun setting through the clouds offers a different show of rays and color once you pass through the west gate.

The best place to see the sunset here is between the North Library and north pool. The reflection of the towers in the water is impressive. Be sure to add this sunset location when visiting Angkor.
