Horseshoe Bend is a classic destination located near Page, Arizona. There is plenty of parking, the sheer size of the bend allows for plenty of room.
Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona is classic bucket list material and for good reason. Even if they don’t know what it’s called or where it is, everyone has seen this famous spot somewhere. Rest assured; pictures cannot convey the massive scale of this place. From your vantage point 1,000 feet above the Colorado River, the deep blue of the water starkly contrasts with the carved sandstone walls making for a stunning scene that you’ll never forget. The view will never look the same during your visits; the color of the walls and water change colors depending on what time of day you're there.
Getting here is simple; it’s right off Highway 89 and is hard to miss. The large lot means you never have to compete with the crowds for parking. The temperature varies greatly depending on the time of year and it can be quite windy on the edge of the cliff, so come prepared and be careful. The weather can change very quickly so be sure to check the weather report before venturing out. A wide angle lens or fish eye lens is definitely necessary if you want to capture the entire bend in your shots. Explore above the rim to get the best unobstructed view. There can be a lot of tourists here, but it’s so big that it will never feel crowded.

Horseshoe Bend is an unforgettable place. If you find yourself in the area, don't miss it! I made the mistake of going to Antelope Canyon (in the same town of Page) and didn't even know Horseshoe Bend existed at the time. I went back, and it was well worth it. It's pretty incredible to realize that there's a 1,000 foot drop beneath you down to the winding Colorado River below. For even more interesting vantage points, continue past the popular viewing area to the right to get a view of the true height of the cliffs with tiny people for comparison. NOTE: this is not a 1.5 mile hike like the post says. It's more like a 1/4 mile round trip from the parking lot. Much shorter.

This really is an amazing experience. Take the whole family. Be careful around the cliff edge. It's sandstone and you never know when the cliff might give or break. There has been accidents and deaths in the past. Still a great and short hike for amazing view of the canyon and area. Highly recommend it!

This is a very easy very quick hike but the view is. A. Maz. Ing. My suggestion would be to make a day of it and also hike some other area finds.
