Description

Fremont Saddle via Peralta Canyon Trail leads through the beautiful Superstition Mountains to a breath-taking view of Weavers Needle.

After taking Peralta Road all the way to the end, park your car in the parking lot and you'll see the sign for the trail head. Sign in at the register and then begin our hike on Peralta Trail.

This trail winds through the canyon and then takes you up switch backs until you reach the saddle. The breath-taking view of Weavers Needle may convince you to stop here for the day, but I suggest going a bit farther.

From the Saddle you will see a tree off to the right a bit- that is your next destination. So head right (North) on the trail and follow this path until you get to your final destination for the day. Scramble around on the rocks and enjoy a beautiful view of Weavers Needle while you eat some snacks.

After taking in this view for as long as you please, turn back around and head down the way you came. A quick decent will get you back to the trail register in no time.

Fremont Saddle via Peralta Canyon Trail Reviews

This hike is a rugged canyon adventure, but still very approachable for all skill levels. Get started early as the summer months approach as there is very little shade. While the hike is easy relatively speaking the trail is full of loose rocks and small boulders that add some spicy elements to the trek. This one is a beauty! The way down is just as gorgeous as the way up!

My daughter and I hiked this trail yesterday (4Dec2017) and it was awesome! Go as early as you can because picture taking is great with the low angle of the sun. It’s a pretty steady continuous climb so take plenty of short breaks. Be sure to look around during your breaks because the view behind you is just as good as the one in front of you! I hiked this trail with my wife one month ago and we did not take the extra short trail off to the east to get closer to the needle. Wow it is incredible over there! A must do, so read the trail description and make sure to tack this on!

This is a good one to hike @ sunrise or sunset for photography
