The hike to Fortification Hill is a 3.7 mile loop trail located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The trail offers stunning views of Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam.
Fortification Hill is an ancient, extinct volcano. Take the Kingman Wash Access Road, which is the dirt road that you'll find at the first exit past Hoover Dam. Follow the dirt road until it comes to the boat launch area, then take a right. The road will begin to narrow and will become rougher.
The trail is best used from September to May, is it gets rather hot due to sun exposure in the spring and summer. Dogs are allowed on this trail.
