Love the Boots!
So here is the thing… these boots are the 4th pair of Targhee III’s. I love them! They are comfortable, rugged and have a good tread pattern. Did I say that I love them?

Poor quality
No they don’t stand by their shoes I bought a pair and one of the shoe laces was almost broke in 2 and they told me to buy new shoe laces no help at all !!

Breaking apart after only 6 months
After only 6 months these shoes start to compmetely disintegrate! I wear them 2/3 times a week for medium walks - forget waterproof! They break everywhere, leaking, sole lifting off. Worst buy ever.

Loss of quality over each generation of Targhee
I have worn Keen Targhee mid boots since the original model. The first pair lasted for years and were waterproof until the boots wore out. The Targhee II model lasted a shorter duration and was less waterproof and narrower. I went to the Targhee III model…the first pair lasted 18 months before soaking through cracked leather. The next pair has lasted 10 months and the sole is splitting away from the shoe, the leather is cracking, and one has actually split all the way through to the fabric beneath! Each pair/model was subjected to the same conditions. Most of my hiking is 3-10 miles on trails; however, they do make occasional trips to Central America and are subjected to rougher trails and damp, humid conditions for a week to 10 days. Here in the northeast, there is mud and wet grass especially in spring but these shoes should still last longer than 10-18 months! I am heart broken to be forced to look at another brand of hiking boot because the quality of these boots has declined precipitously.

Really Good Boot
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Comfortable right out of the box. Truly waterproof with great traction. Works for everything from running errands to long walks. I would recommend going up in size if want to wear with a heavier sock.

LOVE
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second pair of Keen hiking boots - my first pair I’ve had since 2008 and they are still going but it was time for a refresh. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They are also really durable. Lastly I think they are really nice looking - especially this particular color. Highly recommend!

Junk
Bought these in May 2023 and both shoes have holes and my feet are wet everyday. I will never buy another pair of these.

great hiking boot!
Comfortable out of the box, great traction, very supportive, high quality. My only complaint? One tongue was folded lengthwise about a third of the way from the outside edge, so I'm having to put a chip clip on it when I'm not wearing it, to hold it straight. Hoping to eventually retrain the shape. I would assume it got folded when it was put in the box, after the pair was made. I don't notice the fold when wearing the boot as far as comfort goes, but the tongue does stick out in a peculiar manner on that foot. Because I ordered these online, I decided it just wasn't worth shipping back and asking for a replacement.

comfortable. for a non hiking person
I needed to purchase a pair of hiking books in preparation for a trip to the Antarctic. I do not hike, so this was a brand new experience. My hiking brother suggested I wear them to get my feet and ankles used to them. He also took me on a 3 mile hike to test them out. I've worn them agin when we got a snowfall. So far so good!
