This is the perfect day mission for any weekend warriors in Hobart. If you pick a clear day you will have amazing views of lake Pedder the whole way. Make sure you pack warm clothes for the summit even on a hot day! It's was 28 degrees at the bottom but very chilly even with the sun out at the top. Give yourself enough time to spend an hour or two exploring the summit as there is a lot to see. Make sure you head along the right of the track that heads towards mount Ann to get a view of lake judd to the south (which we didn't do and kicked ourselves later). The hut on the track is very cool and worth a stay despite the mouse that apparently eats it's way through any food left laying around. There is a fresh water tank at the hut , tarns of fresh water at the summit and a fresh water creek at the car park. We drank from the creek and tank water with no tummy issues. Took us 5 hours altogether and was a great day!
