If driving, the views of the lake and the bay from the Ferry are exceptional, esp if you time your trip to the sunrise/set. Once you've finished your hike, park your car and grab a bite at Cabin, which affords beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains at sunset and serves the local vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream by Celestial Scoop. The wait staff was pretty awesome too ;)
